Teacher's Day 2010

I'm practically a few months late in posting this subject.. It's been a delightful year as well as a stressful year for me. I have 4 students taking PSLE and 3 taking GCE 'O' levels. Some of them have struggled with the same subject/s for years before approaching me for help. With limited time and other factors, I would say that the exams is a challenge for my students.

On Teacher's Day, I was a pleasantly surprised to receive presents from some of them. I'm really touched...

But the most rewarding present that my students have given me is their improvement in their PSLE subjects. Some of them have gotten much better results than I have expected. In fact, I was quite worried for some of them. Imagine the relief and happiness when I learnt about their results. Most are happy that they have passed a subject that they have always struggled or hated - a proof of their ability to overcome obstacle.

Learning is a lifelong process. Eventually it is not the results that matters but the process of learning; and success will be the crown for those who continue to run the race and never give up. I wish all students all the best in their future endeavours. Thank you so much all the learning times together! And I will always thank God for you ! =)

Pitfalls

Today, my student just messaged me about her Maths results. I'm simply ecstatic about her topping the class with almost a perfect score. It's the best joy a teacher could share with her student. She is one of my more coscientious students who shows great improvement in her Maths. As much as I would hope to see all my students finding fun in Maths and getting good results, not all students follow the basic rule of "Practise makes Perfect".Dear lazy students beware of pitfalls!
